In line with the Government’s roadmap out of lockdown, some ºù«ÍÞapp Borough Council facilities will be reopening on 29 March.
These facilities include:
- Tennis courts, multi-use games areas and outdoor gyms
- The BMX track and skate park
Unsupervised play areas will remain open and continue to be inspected for safety. Any play areas that are subject to closures for maintenance or refurbishment works will have notices displayed. When using our outdoor facilities, please ensure that you follow the appropriate government guidelines and where present follow any guidance displayed at the facility.
K2 ºù«ÍÞapp will reopen for outdoor sports only. Maidenbower 3G pitch and Broadfield 3G pitch will also reopen.
You can check out our park partner websites and social media for the latest information on Go Ape, Smith and Western, The Walled Garden Cafe, Lakeside Cafe, Tilgate Watersports and the craft huts or find out more on our Tilgate Park pages.
From 29 March, outdoor gatherings of either six people (the rule of six) or two households are allowed. People are also able to take part in formally organised outdoor sports. To obtain a permit to hold group classes in our parks and open spaces, please contact Sabrina Gant.
As the schools start to break up for the Easter holidays, Tilgate Park is likely to become extremely busy. There will be a new ice cream and coffee concession in Goffs Park open from 1 April. ºù«ÍÞapp Borough Council is encouraging residents to explore somewhere different and reduce the burden on Tilgate Park and the residential neighbourhoods nearby.
The biggest green spaces are Broadfield Park, Goffs Park, Memorial Gardens, the Mill Pond and Bewbush Water Gardens, Southgate Park, West Green Park and Worth Park. Several of these have free parking if you’re travelling by car. You can find out more about our parks on our gardens and parks pages.
