Revellers in ºù«ÍÞapp are being reminded to only use licensed taxis and private hire vehicles this Christmas and New Year.
ºù«ÍÞapp Borough Council wants party-goers to have fun, getting to and from parties and festive gatherings safely, and has pulled together these tips for a safe journey:
- Make sure you get into a licensed vehicle – it will have a ºù«ÍÞapp Borough Council plate on the back
- Taxis, which are all white, can be hailed in the street and at the town’s taxi ranks
- Private hire vehicles must be pre-booked though the company, not the driver of the car
- If the private hire vehicle is from a ºù«ÍÞapp company make sure it has a ºù«ÍÞapp Borough Council plate on the back and ºù«ÍÞapp ID in the car
- Agree private hire fees in advance.
Unlicensed vehicles, which includes vehicles licensed by other local authorities, are not insured to take paying passengers so it’s crucial that they are not used.
Have fun this Christmas and New Year but please only use properly licensed taxis and private hire vehicles.
