ºù«ÍÞapp

We have been awarded funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (SPF) to decrease the gap in healthy life expectancy and increase opportunities between those in the most and least deprived areas in the town. The funding concentrates on Broadfield, West Green and Bewbush. 

From 1 December 2024, ºù«ÍÞapp Borough Council are inviting summary proposals for funding from training providers, community groups and organisations to deliver projects and initiatives which are focused on improving the quality of life and opportunities for residents in West Green, Broadfield and Bewbush as part of the People and Skills investment priority. 

Funding for grants of up to £50,000 is open to local training providers, community groups and voluntary organisations with projects and initiatives that must be completed by 31 March 2025. Your project proposal should directly benefit residents or community groups within Broadfield, Bewbush and West Green and focus on one or more of the following;

• providing pathways to employment and improving digital inclusion
• supporting local skills needs
• supporting local residents to gain essential skills and to access employment and career progression opportunities. 
• supporting those farthest from the labour market and those that experience barriers to learning, skills training and employment

• Registered charities, small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), training providers, community interest companies, voluntary organisations and community groups that can meet the eligibility criteria (see requirements below) may apply for funding. We also invite proposals from organisations working together in partnership
• We welcome applications for proposals that support existing projects and for continuing projects that have proven effective and impactful

To be considered for funding, groups and organisations must: 

• be registered with HMRC or Companies House or a Registered Charity and Limited Company or a Community Interest Company
• hold their own bank account (in the name of the organisation) 
• be delivering for ºù«ÍÞapp residents (for the activity, at least 80% of the local beneficiaries must live in ºù«ÍÞapp)
• have certain organisational policies in place such as for health and safety, safeguarding, and equality and diversity covering the organisation and activity. Note: certain exemptions and special conditions may apply
• pass due diligence checks undertaken by council officers

We are unable to fund the following:

• organisations with a political or partisan stance
• religious or faith-based groups’ religious activities

We will notify you of the outcome of the application.

Organisations awarded funding will be required to accept the standard funding terms and conditions (or a service level agreement if required by us). Any special conditions or requirements will be notified with any formal offer.

All monies will need to be spent by 31 March 2025 
 

Summary applications should include the following:

• an outline of the project proposal
• details of which UK Shared Prosperity Outcomes it will meet.
• how will you measure that the project is a success?
• a breakdown of costs including funding required from UK SPF and funding from any other sources (if applicable).
• details of what will happen once the funding ends
